Ashton never knew when to quit, the more that he was blatantly pushed in the other direction, the more he wanted to push through toward whatever goal he has set.The possibility that she could become his girlfriend had never even crossed his mind. She was good to look at, but she was so guarded he didn't want to take the time nor put forth the effort to break down that wall. He felt lucky to be currently unattached, he had never asked a woman out in his life, not on a date, not to be his girlfriend nothing. Georgie had just given herself the title and it had carried on from there. The only he had ever asked a woman with the hopes of attachment was whenever he had asked Georgie to marry him. To say that he had skipped a few steps would be an understatement. He could remember it all like it was yesterday, he could picture himself standing in their backyard by the pool which he had filled with rose petals, as the memory surfaced, the anger surfaced with it. He could remember the betrayal, he never could forgive her for the things that she had done toward the end of her marriage, the hurt for leaving him. He didn't ever want to see that emotionally attached to another woman in this or any other lifetime. Women in general were more trouble than they were worth. He had befriended a female whenever he was in school, but he hadn't heard from her since Georgie's funeral, toward the end the two women had become to be far closer with each other than either of them were with him. The suspicion that Lav knew what was going on between them, the problems in their marriage or the secrets that Georgie chose to keep from him infuriated him, she would call herself his best friend, but he couldn't help but wonder if she knew, but he didn't dare to ask for fear of her answer. They were good for a lonely night, but the emotions that came attached to them were often more than he wanted to deal with.
Luckily for him, this woman who he was attempting to have a conversation with, seemed to have little or no interest in learning anything else about him, she didn't even seem to want to talk to him. In fact, she seemed a little upset with him at all times, which was surprising because she obviously came in here, and expected him to pay for her meal. Which he would do of course, but she made it clear that she was rich and wanted nothing to do with him as a person, so what exactly was she interested in. He hoped his fingers would be enough to keep her interested for now at least, until he could move the two of them to a more suitable location. She should have known by now given the eagerness that he had shown that night in the gym and thereafter that if she was only after sex she just needed to say so, he was a fairly straight forward guy. His fingers worked their way up her skirt, she was putting up no resistance as of yet. If they were both after the same thing so be it, all the better to him. His eyes were careful not to focus too much on her own, he didn't need to stare at her, he knew her face by now. He could guess that she was looking at the door or around the room to see how many people were looking at her, she seemed arrogant like that. “See? Isn’t that better?” Smiling he placed another sweet potato fry into his mouth "You tell me" He fingers closed in on their goal. He continued to eat casually. “We don’t have to be hostile all the time.” He heard her, but refused to acknowledge her comment. Sure, they didn't need to be hostile whenever she was getting what he wanted. He felt like he had been rather nice to her for the majority of this outing of theirs.
He eyeballed his burger, it looked as if it would taste wonderful, but he wasn't sure how he was going to manage to eat it with only one hand. He couldn't cut it into bite size pieces to eat, he couldn't pick it all up with his fork at once, luckily he didn't really need to give too much attention to what his hand was doing, he could devote more of his attention to his dilemma. Picking up his fork he knocked the top bun off of the sandwich and began to cut his burger with his fork, he would just seem like some stubborn American to any onlookers. Glancing around he noticed that their drinks had been very recently refilled so he was sure that he wasn't going to be coming back any time soon, and their food wasn't even half way gone. So long as she didn't keep drinking like a fish they should be company free for a little while now. They were located at a corner table, so vision shouldn't be a problem. He felt her head fall onto his shoulder and his chest heaved. That was not alright, his whole body tensed, his hand froze only for a moment until she had lifted her head again. He had no interest in cuddling with her, no spooning and no talking about their feelings. He couldn't help but allow his mind to wander to what would have happened if she had stayed that night in his hotel, the picture of her eating room service on the bed with him while she was wrapped up in those infernal sheets was one that was going to stick in his mind for a while. Whenever he head was lifted he could breath again. Hopefully she wouldn't comment, he needed to get a grip on himself, he was losing control here. Forcing more food into his mouth he concentrated on his nimble fingers. “How’s your food?” He didn't answer her, just nodded, his mouth was full anyhow.
He couldn't shake the image of her lying in bed eating forkfuls of scrambled eggs. It stuck with him. Extracting his hand he reached into his pocket and grabbed a few galleons and placed them on the table, there should have been more than enough to cover the cost of their lunch and a tip, even though he knew that their waiter didn't deserve one. Taking as large of a drink as he could in attempt to make his beer worth the money he placed the glass back down on the table a little too forcefully and a portion of contents sloshed onto the table. Giving her a smile as a form of explanation he nodded once to the galleons as if to say 'lunch is on me' and turned toward the door. He knew it was sudden , and he hoped that she was too self absorbed to notice the pained look on his face, he just hoped that she wouldn't take it too personally. He almost knew that she would, and he knew that his actions here would almost guarantee that the beach rendezvous that he had been planning for the two of them a few hours from now would most definitely no happen. "Until later" He mused as he walked to the front of the building. Paying no mind to the red headed tween that was desperately staring at him. A bell chimed over his head as he trudged out the door and back into the heat. Pausing for a moment to look into the window to get one last look at her before the vacuum feeling took over his body and he apparated away.
