Oooh, point as to the whole Elder wand thing. That actually makes a lot of sense.

Also: I think you may have a point about the Malfoys, to a certain extent. I still have difficulty seeing Lucius lose control so completely at such a crucial moment, especially after he kept himself extraordinarily well in check previously out of fear for Voldemort. I can't fully remember now at which point in the battle the whole "streaking after their son" was, but if it was before Harry defeated Voldemort then, should Voldie have won, I'm sure he wouldnt be very sympathetic towards the Malfoys failing him again, especially at such a crucial moment, so the entire thing would make even less sense. If it was after Voldie's defeat then that argument is obviously irrelevant.

I loved this last book, it was very... Well, it was everything I could possibly want from Rowling, plot-wise, character-wise, everything. All the deaths shocked me. Even the Muggle professor's death, because it was so cold. Just like Diggory in the forth book, it was "kill the spare" all over again. I cried when George started joking about his ear, it was a very emo moment. That moment, I thought the twins would get away alive. I was wrong...
I think Hedwig's death was the most necessary in the whole seven books, especially at that specifical moment. I mean, how would Harry bring her with him in his quest for the horcruxes?
Dobby left me teary and very sad. I liked that elf. I think his burrial was one of the most tense, emotionally, moments in the book. For Harry at least.
I was shocked with the whole Snape thing. I had given up on him and then suddenly, he's a hero. I read his tale almost without a breath, twice. I couldn't believe my eyes. I liked that part a lot.
The epilogue was weird. I wondered, too, about Fred's name. Maybe Percy's kids were named after him? O.o What really left me wondering is why wasn't George mentioned anywhere?
Overall, great book. The best written of all the serie, in my opinion. Read it. Now.

This was certainly one of the better of the seven books. I thought Fred's death and Snapes were the saddest, although I have to admit I felt tears coming when I read about Dobby's. If you look at wikipedia and you find the black/weasley family tree, it shows the names of 'future' kids. George names his kid Fred.
