Character Name:
Adelaide Charlene Saulnier.
Year At Hogwarts:
6th.
Least Favorite House:
Honestly, she doesn't have one. She thinks they're all unique.
What would a typical day in your character's life be like?
When in school, Adelaide is an average student. She wakes up, gets ready and follows the normal routine Galaxia students are expected to follow. In her spare time, she shops, people-watches, goes out on the town with her friends, explores the campus, takes pictures and is an avid cross-stitcher (which her grandmother taught her).
Describe your character's personality:
Social butterfly, good, likeable, helpful, friendly, flirt, bubbly, easily manipulated.
A sample of your RPing:
If Adelaide would have known that a simple night out with a co-worker would have turned into being afraid for her life, then she would have stayed at home. Hugging her arms nervously to her chest, she glanced wearily around at the dark clothed and pale-skinned individuals lining the outside wall of the Ecstasy Red Nightclub. Just from the outside she could tell that this wasn’t her place. Well, any nightclub wasn’t her place if she was being honest. She didn’t go out to get drunk and mingle with bachelors looking for a one night stand. She had never been that type of the girl. On the contrary, Adelaide preferred staying at home in a comfortable pair of sweats and a tank top while lounging on her couch or bed watching old Hollywood movies or reading. That was her idea of a good time, not standing in the dark with a bunch of peculiar looking people in a short, tight-fitting red dress with goosebumps running the entire span of her body. Unfortunately, to her companion, it was. Looking over to Leah, she sighed as she noticed the huge grin on her co-workers face. The woman was ecstatic, like she was a little girl who had been given a pony on her birthday. She was rubbing her hands together in excitement, standing on her tiptoes every few seconds trying to see if they were letting people in or not. Adelaide wished she could understand her friend’s enthusiasm. She felt bad she wasn’t more like her, but Leah didn’t even seem to notice. The thought of getting into such a place was that exhilarating for her.
Leah had approached Adelaide a few days ago after a work shift. The two got along well and were able to hold a conversation so a brief talk before departing wasn’t uncommon. Before saying their goodbyes, the woman invited her out for a girl’s night at one of the wine cafes on the strip. Adelaide rarely got out of the house on a night off so she eagerly accepted. As the night grew closer, so did her excitement. The night wasn’t supposed to be anything more than two friends talking over wine (and not too much as her small frame didn’t hold alcohol very well) and sharing an appetizer or two, but that was more than fine with her. She was a girl of simple tastes. She didn’t need much to enjoy life. She left her condominium a few minutes after seven to make sure she would arrive on time to meet Leah and arrived to the wine café with more than enough time to spare. The woman joined her soon after and two spent two hours talking and laughing about work and the escapades Leah was infamous for getting into. When they paid their bill and were getting ready to leave, Leah stopped Adelaide. “You know, I’m not ready for the night to end. We’re always working so much and I never get out to enjoy myself. I know you definitely don’t.” She shrugged in response. “Why don’t we go back to my place, get a change of clothing and enjoy a night out on the town? Maybe a little dancing? Maybe some friends for the night?” It was actually the last thing Adelaide wanted to do, especially since she had a brutal night shift the following night. However, with as much protesting as she did, Leah would hear none of it and within the next thirty minutes she found herself staring at a scantily-clad version of herself.
Looking down to the red dress, Adelaide felt terribly exposed. The top of the dress started a little too far down her breasts for her liking and the bottom was just underneath her butt. Looking down further, she clicked her tongue at the two inch long black heels Leah had also forced her to wear. “Honey, you are a knockout! You are going to have guys panting as soon as they catch sight of you.” There was no amount of flattering that her friend could do to make her feel better though. This wasn’t her style. She felt awkward for just looking at girls with v-neck lines and short skirts. Now that she was one of them, she felt humiliated. To make matters worse, Leah had taken it upon herself to do Adelaide’s makeup. Smokey colored eyeshadow covered her lids and black eyeliner had been heavily colored all around her eyes. She resembled a Bond girl or one of those evil sirens she had seen in one of her beloved movies. While she could admit that she looked mysterious, she couldn’t fully appreciate everything Leah had done for her. It wasn’t too much of a surprise for a girl who didn’t live her nights out on the town though. When both women had finished getting ready, Leah grabbed her keys and hurried them out of the house. “Where are we going?” Adelaide asked. “It’s going to be a surprise, but don’t worry. We’re going to a club I’ve been wanting to go to for awhile now. This is going to be one of the BEST nights of your life.” Even then, she had a sickening feeling in the pit of her gut that it wasn’t and as they drove closer to the unknown destination, it got even worse.
Sighing, Adelaide turned her head to Leah. “Maybe we should get going. It’s getting late and this line isn’t moving.” Leah looked back at her, clearly appalled. “Are you kidding me? It’s only 11:30! Things are just getting started! Any minute now they’re going to let people in. Plus, I hear that the bouncers here routinely stroll down the line and pick out the hottest girls to bring into the club. We are definitely getting in if they do that.” The longer she had to wait, the more she wanted to leave. Once Leah had pulled up to the club earlier, Adelaide had instantly protested. She had heard things about the Ecstasy Red Nightclub. She had heard that all walks of life wandered around within the confines of the building and that it wasn’t just an ordinary club. She could tell that much just by looking at the people around her. Most of all, she had heard that a lot of funny business went on in here. She didn’t quite know what that meant but she was willing to wager that it was mostly bad given the feel of the place. This wasn’t her crowd by any means. With each person she looked at, Adelaide only got more intimidated. “Oh Adelaide! I see them! They’re walking!” Poking her head out to the left, sure enough, she saw two burly men wearing black suits and sunglasses observing the waiting people as they walked. Tucking her head back in, she did her best to avoid eye contact. The chances of them getting in were highly unlikely, but stranger things had happened. “They’re getting closer!” It was hard to show enthusiasm when she was so miserable. Forcing a small smile, she grasped on tighter to her clutch. “Yeah, guess they are.”
Only a few seconds later, Adelaide heard footsteps stop to the side of her. “You two. To the front.” She heard the sound of metal scraping against metal as a bouncer undid the velvet rope to let the two women through. Leah squealed, grabbing her hand and dragging her behind the other bouncer that was leading them to the front. “I told you! A little patience goes a long way Adelaide.” She said nothing in response. Three other girls followed the pair as they were ushered into the front of the club. Instantly, her head was filled with the loud beats of house music. God this was going to be a long night. Leah maneuvered them to the counter to pay but the attendant waved them off. “Those who get picked get free entry.” Leah squealed again and pulled her through the next set of doors and into the club itself. Adelaide almost had to put her free hand up to shield her eyes from the bright lights. “Let’s get a drink!” her friend yelled. Not having much of a choice, she moved through the bodies to the nearest bar Leah could get them to.
