A deep sigh escaped the mix-matched eye boy as he stood from a secluded section of the slytherin side of the dungeon with his hands over his head as he stretched his spine with a soft crack from the release in tension. Viktor was late, but he didn’t think he was that late. Tugging at the pocket watch that ticked away on the silver chain attached to his slacks he saw he was indeed, late. A small smirk rose from his drying lips, the portrait was right. Avery was going to rip him apart but he didn’t mind. He found it amusing and decided then he was going to take his time to reach the doors where his companion for the evening would be.
Taking a small detour to the clustered room of bodies where his belongings and bed reside – he listened to the soft breaths of some and muted conversations of others as he approached his side of the room. Still dressed within his black slacks and long sleeve button up with house sweater cardigan, the tall boy found his wool lined coat neatly at the edge of his bed along with his deep emerald scarf and gloves. Slipping off his shined shoes and into boots lined in more wool, he grabbed the rest of his evening attire and slipped out of the sight of others with wand tucked neatly within his breast pocket.
While the gel in his hair was slowly fizzling away, he was not too worried in keeping up appearance. Any soul out and about not within the walls of the campus was sure going to look like hell. Slipping around a few turns and up a few stairs he looked to his watch once more before tucking it away within his back pocket as he slipped the gloves over his long fingers before pushing the door open and feeling the kiss of winter on his face.
Licking his lips he nodded softly towards the Aurors that stood post and was feeling the gaze of death and destruction as he approached the only other figure shivering in her layers. He could not help himself from smirking that peeked from his scarf that was wrapped around his neck, tucked within his coat. She was out of her element and he could not stop himself as the words that first came to his mind slithered out, “It builds character Avvie, something came up…”
That was his normal answer to ‘I have no excuse,’ – he was just not in a right state of mind and lost track of time. Licking his lips as the smirk stayed one more second before fading back into the blank stare, the blue and green eyed boy looked out into the darkness before looking to the Aurors wondering as well why they were doing this and not them. There was no point asking or bringing it up, it was instructed that prefects perform duties like this and he accepted the position for some reason; Might as well do it. Knowing Avery, he kept a foot between them and didn’t ask if she was ready – when she was ready for anything, she was going to move and he was going to follow. It was the best he could on their nightly duties for the evening.
