Character Name:
Sura Aria Haughton.
Year At Hogwarts:
Just finishing 6th, going into 7th.
Least Favorite House:
Doesn't particularly have one, though she sometimes tires of the inherently cheerful nature of Hufflepuffs.
What would a typical day in your character's life be like?
On a usual day, Sura would be an early riser. First things first, she would shower, style her hair carefully, and apply the day's make-up. Sura is rather creative when it comes to make-up and hair, and likes to experiment. That being said, it means her morning routine can take anywhere from fifteen minutes to an hour and a half if she is not satisfied with the outcome. To Sura, appearances are important, and she knows that although personality is extremely important when it comes to getting to know someone, no one is going to want to associate with someone who is entirely unkempt. Following her routine, Sura would pick the day's outfit, often opting for a pair of well-fitting jeans or a skirt to pair with a shirt. Generally, her jewelry is kept minimal (ie. a necklace, a bracelet, a ring, earrings).
Once she has prepared for her day, Sura would partake in breakfast with friends, and then attend the majority (if not all) of her classes. Though she is easily distracted or bored at times, she tries her best to end up in classes that can hold her interest throughout the semester. She finds that this helps her to excel. Following her classes, she would likely eat lunch, work-out, and finish any homework that she had. After all necessary tasks had been completed, she would end up in the company of friends and roam the grounds. Generally speaking, detention is never her goal during these outings, but there is often space left in her day for mischief-induced detention sessions, if required. In the evenings, Sura enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, or going on dates.
Describe your character's personality:
Though she may not always appear it, Sura is wild at heart. She knows when she should hold her tongue in most situations (though her tempers has gotten the best of her in the past), and when to behave. She is generally well-liked by her peers, but she has no qualms with telling other people what is on her mind, whether her comments be positive or negative in nature. Sura is well aware that this trait can (and has) created enemies for her in the past, but she doesn't see a reason to change that about herself. Her sense of humour, clever wit, and love of mischief sometimes gets her into trouble, but she rarely pays the punishments any mind. She prefers to live her life the way she wants to live it, and not the way her peers or superiors think she should. Sura often jokes that sarcasm is her second language.
As mentioned before, Sura is creative, her preferred outlet being make-up and hair. She feels less than herself when she misses out on part of her morning routine, as she prefers to always look her best when she can. When people ask her why she prefers to get up early and prepare for the day, rather than sleep in and go to class looking as she does when she rolled out of bed, she often replies with a smile, "You never know who you're going to meet." In the past, she has done the hair and make-up of several friends for school Balls.
Sura is also stubborn and intelligent. She prefers to get her work done early as often as possible, and strives to obtain the highest grades she can. While she is by no means a teacher's pet, she has no qualms about asking for help when she needs it. Rather than give up on something, she prefers to continue to work on it until she is satisfied with the quality of completion. This is likely why she prefers practical magic, such as Charms, Potions, and Transfiguration, as opposed to theoretical subjects such as History of Magic.
Finally, Sura is a bit of a flirt. She enjoys chatting up whoever catches her eye, and sneaking out of the castle for dates has been one of her favourite hobbies as of late. This trait has made her some enemies with a few girls, but generally speaking, she tries not to step on too many toes when it comes to boys. That being said, if she is really interested in someone, her stubborn nature drives her to chase after her person of interest until she is satisfied.

Sura rolled over noisily in her four-poster bed. The soft creaking was not enough to wake anyone else up, however, and for that she was thankful. It wasn't that she would feel particularly bad for waking any of the other girls from their slumbers, but that some of them were downright irate when their sleep was interrupted around exams. People always talked about how smart and clever Ravenclaws were, and how naturally academics came to them. What those people don't tell you is that the Ravenclaw common room and dorms were essentially snake pits of stress and anxiety during exams. Sura didn't count herself among the eternally stressed in her house, but she certainly had a few friends who were, and experience had taught her to be on her very best behaviour during exams, lest she have to walk herself to the Hospital Wing after ingesting a rather nasty draught that caused her lips to fuse. She'd seen that particular dose of wrath exacted in the past, and she had no interest or intention of having said wrath exacted on her.
Finally, when she had decided that sleep was not going to come any time soon, Sura threw her legs over the edge of the bed and grabbed her cloak from a nearby hanger. As she made her way to the Common Room, she breathed a silent sigh of relief to see that the only occupants were out cold on their textbooks. She pushed on the portrait door to leave, thankful that it was not uncommon or unaccepted for she or her housemates to charm the squeaky door into silence for a few days at a time.
The corridors were cool now, and the evenings condensation was beginning to settle on the windows. As she stepped outside into the night air, the same condensation immediately settled on her cloak, giving it a glittery, shimmery sort of look. Shivering, she pulled her hood over her head to cover her identity. She had enchanted her shoes to not leave footprints, so even if someone did see her, by the time they got outside, they would not know which direction she had gone in to follow her. Besides, even if they did know where she was going, it was unlikely that they would follow her. After all, the Forbidden Forest wasn't a place many people wanted to go unless they had good reason. For Sura, it just so happened that she got along with the centaurs in the forest rather well. They were always wonderful for some intelligent conversation or insight into whatever situation she found herself in.
When she reached the cover of the forest, Sura shook herself to dislodge some of the moisture that had beaded on her cloak. It was a little warmer here than out on the open grounds, but still not quite warm enough to take her cloak off. She was thankful that she had chosen the right pair of shoes for her night.; any other pair and she'd be soaked and freezing already. Her eyes began to adjust to the brilliant darkness of the forest, and she blinked a few times as she gathered her bearings before setting off. Her feet were as quiet as one's could be on forest floor. The only sounds that she could hear were the occasional snapping twig, her light breathing, and the occasional hoot of an owl high above her. Mind you, there were rarely other sounds in the woods at this time of night. Which is why the sound of only two more feet caused an icy hand to grip her heart tightly.
