The ground was hot, not just a little warm, but actually hot against her skin. Even though Avery had been sitting here for a good while, it was still sweltering. Uncomfortable. Her long blonde locks were pulled back into a messy ponytail, best suited for flying but even still her hair was long, and it kept brushing against her sweaty bare back. She had been under the impression that she was supposed to be fitting in a last game with one of her favorite men of the year, but he had yet to poke his handsome head out into the pitch. Her broom lay on the ground next to her, rolling around at her fingertips prodding, it didn't seem any more happy about being in the hot grass than she was. Sure, she could be flying around to kill the time, but it just wasn't as fun by herself. There was a single Quaffle laying in the grass next to her, since that was all that she had thought that they were going to need, her long legs folded under one another, the grass clinging to her bare, soft legs and leaving indentations of the blades that pressed into her skin. She had even dressed cute for him, short lycra shorts, an emerald green tank top that was tight enough to be a second skin and her trainers. The criss cross straps on the back of the tank top were going to leave her with a very strange tan line, she had spent the better part of the week attempting to even out the one that she had gotten from her bikini at the lake not too long ago. Now, all of her hard work laying out in the sun was going to be undone in one single sitting. Luckily, all of her make up was water proof, so at least she didn't have to worry about looking like a monster with eyeliner running down her face and her cover up coming off in splotches, at least she was just shiny, and not disgusting. This was the very reason that she liked winter better than summer, of course, it was very rare for Austria to get this hot, so at least she didn't have to worry about it being like this tomorrow, since they got one hot day a month, if that and it was already well into the summer months. All the more reason that Austria was better than a lot of other places she had been too, she had liked England, but it was always so damn rainy there. Her hair didn't do well in that sort of climate.
This was getting irritated, she was fairly certain that she had told him to be here after lunch, it was after lunch and he wasn't here. It wasn't like him not to be punctual. Frowning to herself, Avery used her spare hand to grab a chunk of grass and earth from next to where she was sitting and pick it to pieces, the dirt clumps were falling on her otherwise perfect legs, and she couldn't even bring herself to care. If she was being stood up...she was going to make sure that he was going to eat this dirt before the day was over. Yes, the school term was almost over, but that didn't mean anything, that didn't mean that he could just blow her off because they weren't together anymore...they were together in one way most nights so there was no excuse for him to be late. She hated to be kept waiting. Frustrated, she slammed her palms against the ground and rose to her feel, grabbing her broom with one hand and swinging her leg over it, well, she was just going to have to hunt him down then, she was still within her rights to assign him detention for blowing off his commitments. Even if said detention didn't get served this year, it most certainly would give him something to look forward to next year wouldn't it? No sooner had she kicked off the ground, giving her poor heated skin some relief in the form of a force breeze did she hear him coming onto the pitch behind her. It was deserted these days, their final game had already been done, and of course they had won, they always won. Next year would be no different. Kariana was already harping on them about the summer, and how she would 'just know' if they weren't keeping to their two a day practices. If she honestly thought that Avery was going to do anything with her summer other than lay on the beach and drink her tiny behind off, she was crazy. Sure, she might fly a few times, but Quidditch was only a hobby for her, it wasn't a passion like it was for her and Gavin, she didn't set the sun by the game.
Of course, whenever it came time for their yearly summer get together, she would tell Kariana that of course she had been practicing all summer, and of course she was only eating from the diet guidelines that Kariana had made for all of them at the start of term. When, in truth Avery planned on drinking almost all of her meals. Since she had a new man in her life that liked to buy her whatever she wanted in exchange for certain, unique favors of his liking. Was she taking advantage of his money? Absolutely. Did she care? Not in the slightest. But it wasn't like he seemed to mind at all anyway, what use did he have for the wants of mortals, it was all 'trivial' to him, as he liked to say. Whatever, she still wasn't even sure that she really liked the guy, and he had been in her life for months now. Thinking about him only frustrated her more. Turning her glare down at Regulus, as he walked with no hurry onto the pitch. Swooping down and over to him was party because she was pissed, and party because she wanted the air rushing over her skin to cool her off. Flying in a tight circle around his body she eyed him judgmentally, “Well. I'm waiting” In fact, she had been waiting for all of fifteen minutes now, that was the longest she waited for anybody. He should feel lucky that she was even still here waiting for him. She wouldn't have waited for anybody else. He better have a damn good excuse, and if it was because he was helping himself to too much food at lunch, he might as well just leave.
