Personality
the lady likes:running - If nothing else, running is a form of salvation for Minka. She uses it not only as a tool to keep her bosy in top shape, but as her own personal form of therapy. Running gives her the chance to clear her mind and rid herself of the frustrations and emotions that she otherwise keeps under lock and key. It also happens to be one of her favourite ways to start a day.
quidditch - On top of the competitive nature that her family instilled in her as a child, Minka's father introduced her to Quidditch nearly as soon as she had learned to fly a broom. She quickly took to the spot, much to her father's delight, and so he sent her to camps and lessons and leagues over her childhood summers. In her fifth year, she finally settled on her postion of choice: Beater. Though small, Minka has developed quite the mean swing, and can hold her own on the pitch.
cooking - As a little girl, almost nothing delighted Minka more than joining her mother and grandmother in the kitchen to make a large family meal. Though it is something that has been lost on some Pureblood families, the Carpenters fully encouraged Minka's passion. She does not get a chance to cook often at school, so it is not uncommon for her to completely commandeer the kitchen when she returns home for any length of time.
her friends and family - Those that she holds most dear in her heart are those that she would do most anything for. They give her life and happiness, and for that she knows she can only try her best to return it to them in kind.
intelligent conversation - Although she may not have the most knowledge or understanding on many subjects, Minka enjoys a good conversation with someone that knows what they're talking about. One can learn a great deal if they only pause to listen.
classical music - Classical music was something that she was brought up to appreciate, and still does quite earnestly. There is something about the swell of piano and strings that is soothing to the soul.
christmas - Speaking of soul-soothing, what could possibly be more so than a season spent with friends and family by a hot fire, sipping hot pumpkin juice, with the smell of one's favourite meals constantly caressing the air?
playing piano - The Carpenters insisted on each of their children learning to play an instrument. Minka spent many hours as a child learning to play the piano, while Alaine and Collete learned to play the violin and harp, respectively. Although for a long period of time she hated, and even resented, her lessons, minka was made to keep with them. Now that she is nearly an adult, her attitude is much more positive: she deeply appreciates being able to play, and enjoys the peace and solitude that it brings to her.
but, gracious, does she dislike:ravenclaws - The majority of them are know-it-als and practically insufferable. Though she accepts that there may be exceptions to the rule, she prefers to steer clear of them unless they make a serious impression or she feels that a sharp-tongued remark is in order.
boring people - Quite straightforward, really: if you can't keep her amused, you can't hold her attention.
displaying strong emotions - If her mother had taught her nothing else when Minka came of age, it was that a proper lady never displayed her anger, hurt, or dismay. Rather, she placed a smile on her lips and spoke with a sweet but cool tone. Since learning this, Minka holds the worst of her emotions in, only on the rarest of cases displaying them to anyone but her closest friends.
breaking in new running shoes - Have you ever tried to run ten kilometers in a brand new pair of running shoes? They're stiff and uncomfortable and leave you with blisters, yet it's the only way to break them in without suffering even more.
transfiguration - For whatever the reason, Minka has always struggled with Transfiguration. Even though she doesn't show it, her failures leave her mind impatient, causing her to make mistakes. Who would want to turn a mouse into a tea cup anyways?
teasing someone for no reason - Minka feels that it is simply a waste of her time, nothing more and nothing less. Why spend time making fun of someone when you could simply hold your head high and ignore them, and spend that time doing something more interesting and worthwhile? That is, of course, unless that target is a Ravenclaw.
her strongest traits:ambitious - True to her Slytherin house, Minka keeps exactly what she wants in the cross-hairs of her sights and pursues it until she is satisfied. Often she reaches even higher than that which she desires.
sharp witted - Like many of those in her house, as well as those she is related to, Minka can have a sharp tongue. Her sense of humour and manners are often combined into what can turn out to be biting remarks or playful teasing. Which occurs depends on who you are.
quietly attentive - Minka notices much of what is going on around her, whether it be blatant or subtle. However, just because she notices it doesn't mean she'll mention it. Minka is well aware that some things are best left unspoken.
proud - This describes several aspects in Minka's life. She is proud of her family and who they are in the world, for one. She is also proud of her own accomplishments, and those of her friends. This proud nature does not bode well for criticism, however; she does not always take it well.
loyal - Minka was brought up to stand up with those who are most important to her. She trusts them implicitly. This loyalty can only be broken by serious transgressions.
fair temper - This is only a partially accurate description of Minka's temper. What others see of her is a rather fair, mild tempered girl. However, the emotions and temper that lie just below her smile are more firey. This is only really known to her close friends and family.
well-mannered - Minka was brought up to know how to behave in the highest class of company. Whether it concerns executing a curtsy, knowing which fork to use for her salad, or what exactly to say to whom, Minka is well-versed in politeness.
and her weaknesses:being petite - Being as small as she is, some people don't take her as seriously as she can demand to be taken. It can be tricky for her to physically stand her ground, because she is quite movable. This is frustrating for her, and can lead to rather hot-headed moods.
carbohydrates - Mainly pasta. How can anyone turn down a good bowl of carbs? Too bad her hips don't seem to agree with her passion, but at least her running habits keep those effects at bay.
seeming lack of emotion - Because she often keeps her extreme emotions to herself, Minka can seem cold and distant at times. It's not that she doesn't care, it's that she isn't comfortable with letting people see her so vulnerable.
jealousy - Minka doesn't like other people playing with her toys, to put it in metaphorical terms.
outspoken - When it comes to liking someone and their opinions (or not), Minka is more than happy to let that someone know. Her blunt honesty can sometimes rub people the wrong way, although her friends and family know that she generally means no harm by it.
the ideal man: This man smells good, is in excellent shape, lovess Quidditch, has a good sense of humour, can make her smile, and can make her give away even her darkest emotions.
amorentia: Fresh laundry, soap, early morning air, and fresh baked bread.
mirror of erised: Cooking dinner with her husband in a rather grandeur kitchen, with three small children chasing one another around the nearby table. She is blissfully happy.
boggart: A dark, empty room with a closet cracked open. When Minka was five years old, her cousins let a poltergeist into one of the empty rooms of their house. They implored Minka to investigate, and locked her into the very dark room as the closet door pushed open very slowly the bony, grey hand of the poltergeist. Though she is now 17, Minka still greatly dislikes the dark when she is alone.

least favourite subject: Muggle Studies and Transfiguration.
