Personality and Traits
Personality:
- Clever – Ray was not in Ravenclaw house for nothing. He has the book and street smarts he needs to get himself out of any situation he may stick himself into.
- Caring – Despite being a werewolf, Ray has everyone else’s best interests at heart. If he sees someone in need, no matter what he is in the middle of, he will help them first. The few friends he does have he feels protective over. To let something happen to them would devastate him.
- Generous – Coming from a family who knows what it is like to be on the poor side, Ray knows what it is like to be down on one’s luck. Now that his family does have a leg to stand on financially, he finds himself helping others who may need assistance.
- Sociable – Being homeschooled meant Ray had plenty to make up for in his social life. While his family tried to keep him tied to the house as much as possible to work on managing his abilities, he managed to make his way into the public to get together with old friends and to make new ones on the rare occasion.

History:
Ray comes from two separate lines of werewolves. His father’s line dates back to the late 1500s while his mother’s dates back to the early 1900s. His family originated from England where he was born. Some of the generational branches have moved to different locations across Europe. Ray’s family remained in England. He was born in Liverpool where his parents, Robert and Jessica, took up residence after they married. They spent most of his childhood educating him about the ways of being of werewolf blood and living in a human environment. For them, it was difficult to explain what was going to happen because neither of them had ever transformed, but they based their knowledge off of their own experiences with their parents. Thanks to the encouragement of his family, he quickly became a socialite, making friends with everyone he could. They taught him at an early age that despite his gift, or a curse depending on your outlook in life, he needed a support system. He had to have people he could turn to when he needed help. He knew his family wouldn’t always be around regardless of how much they wanted to be.
Making all of those friends became his downfall when his family was forced to move from England. Their secret had been discovered by those who did not care for werewolves. They were driven out of their homes to save their lives and forced to move to Austria, the location where Robert’s parents had moved to just before Ray was born. Henry and Lenora welcomed their family with open arms, bringing them into their established home. Living on the border of Austria, Germany, and Czechoslovakia proved to be fruitful for Robert’s parents. They had become vital roles as liaisons for the three countries and their delegates since they had moved there thirty years before. As such, they had found a way to set the family up financially. Robert hoped moving back with his parents for a small amount of time would open up many avenues for him and Jessica as well. Robert and Jessica who had been restricted to only one job market now had more ability to earn money and make something out of their family. Even though they could have easily mooched off of his parents and made a living that way, their family always had a want to make a living by their own hands so that was what his parents set out to do. By the time Ray was on his way to Galaxia, both of his parents had secured jobs in Germany at the major hospital. Due to the location of their new jobs versus where they were currently living, they decided to move out of Henry’s home and into their own in Germany. With Ray beginning school, it made the move that much easier. He would stay in at school in Austria and travel back to Germany during the summers.
For the first two years things were going well. Being a Ravenclaw, school came easy to him and after working so hard to make friends as a child, he didn’t have a problem making connections with people in his house. The summers were difficult, living in Germany while all of his friends were located in Austria, but he found plenty of ways to make his life work. The complications came during his third year when he began to hit puberty. Being born of two werewolves meant he was bound to be one himself. It was two months before his fourteenth birthday, over Christmas break, when Ray began to feel his body changing. It was the beginning of the full moon cycle and within an hour, he had been moved from Germany to Austria and locked up in his grandparent’s cellar. Unbeknownst to him, they had been planning for his transformation since his parents had moved to Austria. His grandparents’ home had been built to cage in werewolves, making it the perfect place for him to learn how to control his gift.
Over the next four years, he spent his life in his Grandparent’s home. Not once had he returned to Galaxia, even to pick up his things. His grandfather had done that for him, along with notifying the school he would not be returning. Ray was devastated when he was given the news that he would spend the rest of his adolescence under the protection of his grandparent’s until they were sure he could handle his werewolf side. Though he disliked their rules, he complied because he understood it was what was needed to keep others safe. His first few transformations were the worst. The wolfsbane forced down his throat had to be the most terrible part about everything. Over time, just like any other werewolf, he gained control. His grandparents worked on teaching him how to keep in his own mind while in wolf form, how to resist from turning at the full moon (he’s still working on that one), and, most recently, how to transform at will. He has yet to transform for any other reason but training and the full moon.
