prideful lily is used to being right, or faking it well enough to be perceived as being right a majority of the time. when it comes to the fact that she is intelligent, she uses is as a pawn when twirling people around her little finger. if someone doesn’t believe what she says to be true, she will point out another fact to them – like the obvious facts of the mating rituals of barn owls. she has talked her way into and out of situations with simple lies accompanied by and air that she knows what she is talking about.
snarky the little bulgarian has quite the mouth on her – she isn’t one to shy away from cursing or saying what she feels – that, accompanied by her sharp wit make her a person who is constantly misunderstood and glared at because of the way she can speak. she isn’t one of those people who always holds their tongue out of fear of being judged- lily just goes with it and rolls with the punches.
cold perhaps too intelligent for her own good, liliya has the tendency to come off as cold and unfeeling. coupled by the fact that she tends to speak before she thinks, and most things are purely topical with her, she isn’t the girl that is willing to show emotions. true, she is friendly, sweet and kind, but she isn’t the type of person to get sentimental over something. puppies are cute, yes, but she isn’t going to wet herself over the excitement of seeing one. she believes in the statement, “keep calm and remain fierce.”
forgiving while she knows that she should, liliya believes in second (and third and fourth) chances with people. people screw up and no one is given a handbook on how to live correctly, so it is understandable that people make mistakes. lily is fiercely loyal, afterall, in her opinion it’s only right to be.

history: Over the years, Liliya has grown tired of her parents and grandparents talking about the way things were in “The Old Country.” As far as Lily is concerned, the entire world is old, but she knows of course that they are talking about the way things were in Europe before the time of the persecutions. To understand, one must first understand the circumstances of Liliya’s birth. You see, it’s true that she was born in the town of Gabrovo, Bulgaria. It is also true that she wasn’t born in a hospital, or even in a house. Lily was born to a family of travelling gypsies in their caravan on the night of a full moon. They all thought it was a sign of some sort that Liliya was born underneath a full moon, but what that was, Lily is still unsure of. Around the time of her birth, her people were prosecuted for their ways and due to this, Lily moved constantly when she was a child; she has lived in approximately thirteen different countries in Europe, all of which her and her family lived in for no more than a year or two. Since then, Lily has grown used to not being settled in one place for very long.
Lily is the third child of Emil and Anastasia Petrova; the Petrova and Dimitrof lines were not only a part of the Gypsy people, but they also had the added advantage of being born of magical blood. While the family moved, they were never poor or starving. Lily can never remember a time when she was forced to wear rags for clothes or having to live on grits in a back forest of an unknown European country. Given their nature, the Petrova family was filled with women who made a living telling peoples fortunes and casting their hoodoo magic on other people. Due to the fact that they actually were magical people, they were better off than other families who lived in the caravan with them. When Lily was ten years old, she witnessed her fourteen year old sister become the bride of a much older man who was in his thirties. It was an arranged marriage, of course, and though it was the way of her people, Liliya was disgusted by it and in her gut she knew it was only a matter of time before her family put her into an arranged marriage. Six months later, Liliya met the man that she was supposed to marry. Her parents said they were forcing her to do it so young because they feared her youthful beauty would be gone before she turned sixteen. Before the wedding day came, Liliya received a letter from Galaxia stating that she was due to attend their school that Fall. Her parents begged her to stay with the family and her husband, but Lily was terrified that she would be doomed to a fate similar to Eva’s- married to a middle aged man and probably raped and abused on a daily basis.
Galaxia was a saving grace for her, although it was quite different from a life she was used to. She had never attended classes before, never had to wear a uniform before, and she certainly had never slept in a real bed before. It was like living the most lavish and rich life style that she could ever possibly want. It was more than what she wanted, and she immediately felt more comfortable in this new and stable life than she had in all her years of traveling with the Romani people. She loved her family dearly, but the Austrian wizarding world was much more similar to what she wanted in life. Lily did all that she could to completely immerse herself in this new culture, which included joining her houses Quidditch team. She was absolutely rubbish at first and she suffered many broken bones during training, but being as headstrong as she was, she never gave up. She played as the Ravenclaw beater for five years when she was in Galaxia.
Liliya excelled at Potions when she was in school and she had plans to move on to being a professional potion maker when she graduated. However, strangely, her Divination professor always seemed to hate her for some reason. Lily always thought that it was that she was better at reading tarot and tea leaves than the professor was, but she never voiced her opinion on the matter. Post graduation, Liliya went into training to be a potioneer, but there is only so much training one can have. A majority of it was on job experience, and after too many cauldrons blew up in her face (literally) Liliya gave up on that plan. Instead, she started tending bar at the Mirage Lounge and she has been for the past four years.[/ul]
