Lina was actually looking forward to this training session with Ash. There was no possible way that I could go worse than the one she had with Adonis. Lina knew how to take orders from superiors and had been commended many times before on being a polite and obedient underling. But with Adonis, she immediately felt him scoff her off and discount her as just another body. That did not sit well with Lina. Despite her financial and familial concerns, she held her head high and proud. She dressed herself as delicately and elegantly as possible, despite not being able to shop for her usual designer-name brands. She spoke with intelligence, diligence, and most of all, respect. A Rocher demanded respect simply with their presence. The Pureblood families in France never simply tolerated them, but took them in as one of their own. An exception to the rule. An exceptional wizarding family, in general. Though she lugged around that ridiculous Beaumont name, she still wanted to demand respect with her presence. Adonis gave her little to none, and Lina felt it unnecessary to comply to him or treat him as a higher rank. Why should she? He was training her how to use her wand and use self-defense, something she had learned and been taught over and over again since she was a child. Needless to say, the two hissed at each other at snakes and it ended rather coldly.
Of course, there were other things to worry about, such as The Order’s suspicions of her identity and her alliance. Honestly, they made such a fuss. Yes, Lina was complacent and unenthusiastic, but that was simply her nature. She responded to almost everything with a state of contentedness. She showed little emotion aside from a cold smile and valued her mysterious demeanor. Apparently, in this plan and business of hers, she would have to warm up to The Order. Though she did not support either organization whatsoever, she found her equals and people who understood her character more in the Death Eaters. Didn’t make the street scum who ruined her family any better; just more tolerable.
Ashton had asked her to meet not at the Order headquarters but behind Alzbura Alley, right near the forest. It was close to twilight when she received the owl from him. Lina was woken from an afternoon nap when she heard the glass being tapped by a rather voracious owl. She groaned and rolled out of bed, her hair a mess and her eyes bloodshot. The night before she had worked at the Purgatory, and though it was her third shift, she was still getting used to staying up until 4 am and going to bed at 5 am. But she was slowly adjusting. This time when she awoke she didn’t feel as if she was in a complete daze. Plus, she didn’t have a shift tonight, so she would have to keep herself occupied until at least 3 am so she wouldn’t go off the schedule. The owl cooed and hollered as Lina read the letter suggesting their meeting time. She ignored his pleas for a treat as she walked into her room and changed into something more appropriate. The owl continued to screech and almost flew into her room, but she shut the door just in time.
After shuffling through some of her clean clothes and putting on a scarf and a coat she exited her bedroom to find the owls sitting in front of her door. He squawked once and Lina glared at him. “No.” she said firmly, and the owl screeched again, flying towards the kitchen window and nearly hitting her in the face. “Blasted owl,” she muttered as she grabbed a trail mix snack out of their pantry. Lina was able to have one morsel before she apparated behind Alzubra Alley. She looked around for a black coat or any trace of life and decided she was early. Taking out her trail mix, she ate quickly so she had some kind of energy for the meeting she was about to have.
