physical description Raelene is a natural blonde with blue eyes, standing at 5'6" and weighing about 127 pounds. She has a natural build that borders between slender and athletic. It tends to lean more towards athletic due to the amount of physical activity she likes to do on her spare time.

tattoos and piercings She has one tattoo on her right shoulder blade. It is a pair of wings, elaborate yet elegant, they begin at the base of her shoulder blade and extend upwards towards the top of her shoulder, a length of five inches in total. She got the tattoo at the age of fifteen, the soonest that she had been able to get it without her parents permission. They still don’t know about its existence to this day. The tattoo symbolizes her determination to go beyond what people expected of her and to be her own person, to rise above her family and make a name for herself outside them.
distinguishing features She has no particularly distinguishing features.
flaws There is a birthmark on her left hip that looks like a small heart.
appearance Rae dresses for the occasion. While at work, she dresses professionally, meaning a dress or skirt suit and heels, as her job usually calls for such attire. When she's at home alone, she prefers a pair of shorts, a tank top, and bare feet. Going out on the town with friends, she usually likes to wear a flirty shirt, jeans or a skirt, and heels. And when she goes casual outside of the house, a simple t-shirt and shorts or jeans with tennis shoes usually suit her just fine. She can play up or play down however she needs to for the occasion.

patronus Rae's patronus takes the form of a sea lion. The memory that helps her conjure the sea lion is a moment from her childhood. It is the last memory she has of her brother before he started school and became the bane of her existence. It was the day before he would leave for school so they had taken a trip to a wildlife reserve. The day had been one of her happiest, a day where social status and work didn't matter. A day where they were all free to enjoy themselves. They had talked, laughed, and bonded in a way they would never do again. Her family had been whole for that day, and that day alone.
mirror of erised At this point in life, Rae does not have a set dream, but only a path that she wants to follow. She does not currently have an interest in becoming a department head or Minister, but only to serve those in the top positions, to be an aid to those who do the most good. She feels she can do the most good as an aid since she has a lack of experience in leadership roles. As she goes, Rae assumes she will find what she wants in life.
veritaserum She doesn't have deep, dark secrets. The only secret she really holds is one that it is not hard to derive if you are around her often enough. It is her disdain for her family name, for the family that abandoned her because she was not perfect and does not hold the same values as the do.
amortentia Lavender, mint, pumpkin, chocolate, and last but not least, cinnamon.
personality Rae is an extremely friendly person who has no problems making friends. Once she makes friends, she does find it sometimes hard to keep them since she will often spread her time rather thin. Though, when she does make friends and keep in touch, they will often discover that Rae is an extremely loyal and reliable friend.
Despite her being a bookworm, she also loves to party and hang out with friends. She is also very athletic so she was able to fit in with nearly every social group during her school days, though she hardly had time to spend with friends outside of her strong study habits which is why she never felt she had a large friend base.
While she is friendly, she also has a temper that is slow to start but quick to boil. During her school days it did not affect her often since she normally did not have much time to spend with other students, however, after her school years ended and she found herself with more free time, Rae began to realize just how inhibiting her temper could be. Over the years, she has found a handful of useful methods that allow her to keep her temper under control by managing the stress of the situation and taking a step back to analyze. As a result, she often doesn't find herself coming close to losing her temper. On the off occasions where her temper does show, it becomes obvious she is Australian because her accent tends to leak through and she also uses terms that originate from her home country.

ethnicity Rae is a native Australian, born and raised. While her family still retains their strong accents, Rae transitioned out of hers at the age of twelve when she began learning other languages. Her accent hindered her ability to properly pronounce some words. As a result, it isn't obvious that she is Australian unless she happens to lose her temper and some of her accent slips through. Or she uses some words specific to the region.
She knows the necessities to get her by in nearly every language, but she is fluent in Spanish, Italian, French, German, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Mandarin, and Japanese.

history Raelene was born and raised in Australia. Ever since she was a child, she never quite felt like she belonged in her family. For generations, her family has worked for the Australian Ministry, starting from the bottom and working their way up through the ranks. Her parents are both Department Heads. Because of their long standing tradition of working in the Ministry, Rae is held to very high expectations by her family, expectations that she does not wish to have placed on her. Luke, her older brother, has already taken his position within the Australian Department of Mysteries as an Unspeakable. He already is on the fast track to becoming Department Head. Ever since he was a child, he had always had the praise of their parents, always being the over achiever and doing everything they dreamed of him. Raelene was different. When she was a child, Rae often found herself mouthing off to her parents, getting upset when they would pressure her to do something she didn't want to do. She was often punished and scolded for not being like her brother, not being the perfect child. Rae would live to resent her brother for that, for always showing her up and never giving her the chance to make her parents proud. Especially because the older they got, the more he did it on purpose. It had become a game to him. Rae had no interest in playing along.
As she developed further, Raelene's attitude became apparently different than that of her family. While they were more calm and collected, only showing their anger when necessary, Rae was more outspoken and not afraid to let her voice be heard. It got her in trouble more often than not, but she didn't really know any different. All she knew was she was never treated the same as her brother, never acknowledged when she did something well, so she acted out in return. When she finally began in the academy, Raelene began to realize just how much her attitude could get her in trouble. Time and time again for the first month, she was placed in detention for talking back to a professor. She quickly learned that there was a time and place for her attitude, and that most people didn't deserve it. No one had given her any reason to talk back, so she learned how to assuage it when she was around people other than those who deserved her attitude in return. Her school life became increasingly more productive, resulting in her spending much more time on her schooling than in detention.
Once in the academy, the weight on Rae's shoulders to be perfect, and the repercussions when she wasn't, had tripled. Though she always tried, getting top marks in all of her classes and even going above and beyond by doing overload classes, Rae never got the appreciation she looked for. Eventually she stopped doing it for appreciation, and did it for herself. She found an appreciation for other cultures and their languages at the age of twelve. It was the result of one of her professors, a part-time employee at the Ministry, working for the international relations department. He taught Rae the beauty of the Italian language, and from that point on, she spent all time outside of classes and homework working on learning additional languages. As she learned the languages, her Australian accent began to disappear. Now, she is fluent in ten languages and is able to speak enough of numerous other languages to get her around with those countries nationals.
While she was always so busy doing school work and learning her passion, Rae still had time to make some friends and go out and enjoy herself. Most people saw her as just a bookworm, but she consistently surprised people when they found out she could be quite the party animal. Drinking was not foreign to her. Neither was shopping. While she didn't perform any of those activities often, she made sure to go all out and enjoy herself. Once she graduated, Rae had all intentions of travelling and learning firsthand all of the things about the cultures she had researched. In the meantime, she was going to take advantage of the free time and enjoy her life more often, going partying, drinking and shopping more than she had been able to in school. Her parents had another idea for her life, however. Raelene had been given two options. One, she could get a job as her mother's assistant. Two, she could get a job as her father's assistant. If she chose to deny either of them, she would lose all access to her trust fund. At the time, the threat was real, something Raelene couldn't afford to happen. Not to mention, it wasn't that she didn't want a job at the Ministry. She just didn't like being told that was her choice. In the end, she chose to work for her father, the lesser of the two evils (they got along a bit better than Rae and her mother).
For years, Raelene worked for her father, but in the end, she made the ultimate decision that she could no longer stay with the Australian Ministry. At every turn, she was being compared to her family. Her brother, her parents, even dating back generations. It was becoming daunting and quite frankly, she was becoming ultimately depressed that no one ever saw her for being herself. So one fateful day, she stopped by Gringott's, withdrew enough of her trust fund to survive off of for a few months, packed all of her important belongings, and moved to the first place she could think of. Austria. The epicenter of the Dark Lord battles. The most active Ministry in the world. It was the perfect place to start over.
