Time for a Change: A New Minister Announced

It has been nearly four years since the disappearance of Prior Minister Raghnall and two years since the appointment of his personal secretary, current Minister, Callista Audler. In those two years, Darren Morgan has become a household name. Death Eaters have been spotted across the globe, causing wide spread panic in their wake. But no one has faced as much panic as the residents of Austria. Almost immediately following the unexpected appointment of Minister Audler, our country was rocked with another attack by the Dark Lord and his followers. A travesty familiarly named 'The Battle of Gringotts'. The same Battle in which Darren Morgan outed himself as the Dark Lord.
Most of you will remember the aftermath, Alzubra Alley was left in ruins. Stores destroyed, lives lost, and many residents left with nothing. Even Gringott’s, supposedly the most secure bank in the world, was brought literally to the ground. Once the dust settled, the ceiling was gone thanks to an escaped dragon, the columns supporting the ceiling were littered across the floor, and the walls were collapsed in. There was nothing left standing of the most secure bank in the world.
Still, after nearly two years, Austria still hasn’t completely recovered from the devastation. Parts of Alzubra Alley lay in ruin, Gringott’s will never appear secure again, and the Ministry has been playing catch up to Darren Morgan all of this time. Yet, the question begs, why are they still playing catch up? Though Death Eaters have been spotted, causing minor problems across the globe, Darren Morgan has not been seen since that day. His followers have made no large attacks on the people. This reporter isn’t sure why the Ministry has not been able to make any headway in the matter, but it seems as if the Ministry has decided to take a new approach to this problem.
As of July 1st, Minister Audler will become former Minister. At a press conference this morning, June 28, 2013, it was announced that Marlon Wagner, current Head of the Department of International Magic Cooperation, will be appointed as the new Minister of Magic. Incumbent Minister Wagner graduated top of his class from Hogwarts Galaxia in 2002. He brings with him three years of experience as Department Head of International Relations, and eleven years in the Ministry overall.
The Ministry did not release a statement at the press conference as to why Minister Audler is stepping down. This reporter has been requesting a statement from the Ministry, however they have not released any information that would lead to anything more than speculation as to this change in authority. Could it be that the shift in power is not voluntary? Has the Ministry determined that Minister Audler has been holding back the progress of finding Darren Morgan and bringing him and his constituents to justice? Or maybe it is a voluntary move on Minister Audler’s part; an attempt to get some fresh perspective in hopes that Incumbent Minister Wagner will shed some unforeseen light on the situation.
Either way, this reporter looks forward to seeing the changes that will be brought around with a new Minister. We here at the Daily Timestopper would like to wish departing Minister Audler a fond farewell as she moves on to the next adventure. We would also like to give a warm welcome to incoming Minister Wagner. We wish you the best of luck in the coming days.
