He didn't even want to be here. Didn't want to be in this stupid building that smelled like books. Oh, Ashton liked to read. Really he did. Had a very expansive library locked tightly away in his house. Though, it wasn't something that he advertised. Didn't like people knowing that he even had the ability to read. Let alone that he did it fairly often. Still, sometimes he had a need to be in places like this, whether he liked it or not. His lip curled into a sneer as her hands moved, the woman behind the counter didn't seem to be able to speak to him. Or she was just trying to be annoying. Why would you work in a position that deals with people most of the time if you couldn't speak. Sign language, he knew that well enough, but he wasn't going to bother attempting it back. His hands didn’t even remove his hands from his pockets. “Gross,” he didn't care if she thought that he was rude, not speaking was rude, besides, why should he treat her differently than everybody else? “So, you're useless then, can you find me somebody else who works here?...” he trailed off at her incredulous look. “Can you not hear either?”
'I can hear just fine. What can I help you with... sir?' The instant unwelcome sounds in his head brought about a migraine In nothing flat. His eyes widened at the same time his hands clapped to his hands to either side of his head. His limbs having moved at the same time as he took a step back, glaring at her “NO” his palm knocking on the side of his head “Not okay!” he was an auror for merlins sake, he had been trained against this sort of thing, even though she was only speaking, not intruding, it was extremely painful regardless. “No ma'am you keep that shit to yourself,” he scolded, brow furrowing in threat. 'Fine, don't be rude. What can I help you with?' Ashton's eyes narrowed. His face still contorted in pain as the pounding behind his eyes continued, his index finger separated itself from the rest of the group long enough to shake at her. No. He wouldn't be placating her, he had no intentions of cooperating, and as soon as his head would stop splitting, he could keep her out. His brow pinched, his eyes narrowing. “I don't think I like your tone. Where's your manager?”
'I am the manager,' Fuck. That was just going to be fucking useless. He could read her fingers, another skill he didn't ever want to admit to having. Growing up in an Orphanage gives one strange skills. 'Now were you looking for a specific book or section or just browsing in the attempt to harass innocent workers? Because if it's the former I hear the cafe/library three blocks over is more accommodating in that department.' The urge to insult her further was just building the longer he looked at her. She wasn't unattractive, but flawed and annoying about how okay she was with the whole thing. Ash could just see her hands out of the corners of his eyes, just barely make out what she was saying to him and didn't want to. He should pretend that he wasn't able to hear her whatsoever. Should just ignore her, she was annoying enough, to be certain. “Just a word, go on, speak then, I refuse to placate crazy,” he was trying to keep her out of his mind, trying to keep her away from that awful pounding that his training had instilled into him, he had walls up all the time, she was just good,. Sadly. “I need a functioning witch to speak to., Call Somebody.”
