Mikey kept pacing, it wasn't like him to pace. At least he had taken it outdoors. He couldn't take another whole meal with that asshole. Another tense lunch where he was wolfing down food just because he didn't want to have to sit next to him and pretend any longer. Another lunch where Apollo's hand would shift ever so slightly to rest against Mikey's knee, or run the outter seam of his thigh, he couldn't take it anymore. It was so fucking confusing. He didn't even know if he liked it, didn't even know if he wanted it because it was just a hand on his body that seemed to want him, or if it was just because it was Apollo's hand. He was so fucking confused about everything, so he was outside, in the three feet of snow that seemed to blanket the grounds, waiting. Sissa would have to show up sooner or later.
The snow hid the bounding strides from him, and he had only turned just in time to see the arms fling about his person to catch and return the hug. He had outgrown her years ago, been taller than her by at least a foot for as long as he could remember, and yet she still managed to squeeze the air out of his lungs regardless, and so he squeezed her back, nestling his head into the curve of her neck, feeling somehow more sad now that she was here. Like he was finally allowed to feel the sad, hadn't even known he needed to until she had shown up. “Missed you too Sissa,” He admitted, letting her go slowly. He had always been closest with her out of all of his many siblings. “I got sleep.” he had, at least four hours...curtains pulled shut and everything, but that had only made it worse. Mikey took the bag without looking inside, this whole thing was really starting to get to him, and he didn't quite know how to handle it. Changing of things, the possibility of changing himself, he didn't know what to do with it all. His shoulders shrugged, he was grateful that she wasn't pushing him, wasn't making him talk, or trying to get him to confront things. “Can we just go?"
Mikey stuffed his hand into his pocket, thumb brushing over the bag with his other. He felt...guilty. Why did he feel guilty? That was strange wasn't it? It had to be. It felt wrong. Everything about what was happening felt wrong. He had been hoping that she would just whisk them away and he could drink himself into a coma, that was all that he really wanted after all. Or so he was going to keep telling himself. “I already told you everything, and I'm sure the elf told you even more. You probably know a lot more than I do by this point. I don't see how that can possibly be true.” He had heard it from Sissa, and normally that was the final push that he needed on any given subject, her telling him how things were going to be. Normally that was enough. He had even thought that he had seen for himself, and the Annie thing...but he just. Didn't know how to wrap his mind around it. “Why now,” he shrugged, “It's been six years and he's been fine. Why's he gone all weird now.” Not that weird was even the word that he was looking for. He was so damned frustrated that he was almost kicking snow.“If he was into dudes fine, but why did he have to stop being my friend Sissa? What did I do?”
Mikey wanted to tell himself that he'd always been more of a 'free love' sort of person. He didn't see what he did as cheating, or thought that he was unfaithful really, he just liked to think of it as spreading the love. People just tended to get touchy about it. He had dated a lot of people, most of the people here at school that were legal even, but not a guy. He'd never been into a guy, still wasn't into guys and he didn't like questioning that fact. But he had kissed Apollo, hadn't he? That last time that the boy had cornered him on the way out of the showers, he had kissed him back and it hadn't repulsed him like he thought that it might have. He had even tried to see if kissing another guy had been something that he might be into, just another venue for love to grow and it wasn't. It hadn't been like kissing Apollo. Sissa had already said that he could be into just the one guy, that it was a thing. It was just...all so very confusing.
Mikey was allowing himself to be lead over to the bench, but didn't realize that he had sat down, or that Sissa had knocked all the snow from the perch like the good sister that she was. His head feel forward, his shoulders rounded. He didn't like being confused. Obviously. “Who said he was into other dudes?” Well nobody, specifically, wasn't that just how it was supposed to work? That was where he was having such an issue. And even more, why was he constantly trying to make him jealous with Annie of all people? Why would he be jealous of Annie? “I mean shit Mikey, you would be the one to turn a straight guy,” He cracked half of a broken smile then, snorting in dubious laughter, “I am pretty,” he tried, but it didn't have the same gusto that it would have otherwise. His head finally inclining toward her fingers. “Have you even seen him with another guy? Or show interest in another guy?” He shook his head softly, “No, I don't think so...” would he have noticed? Apollo was always with girls, getting girls with him, bringing back more than one to the dorm, and he wasn't exactly hard to look at, if he had wanted a man, any man, he would have gotten him. Would have brought them back to the dorm, Mikey would have heard. Instead of, whatever it was going on. “No. I haven't.”
