physical description Rodolphus was always one of the shorter members of his family, not that he could be considered short by any means, standing at 6'1. Still, even his younger brother came in taller than he was, something that Rabastan never wanted to let him forget. Not to say that he's ill formed or even lanky. He has always been considered to have a lean build, his arms sculpted from frequent use and a torso that would lead most to believe that he was a swimmer. Which he is, he's not fond of exercise outside of his morning swims, and tends to work up a sweat...in other ways. He's been told that he has a handsome face, but he would much rather people describe it as an 'interesting' face. He doesn't put much stock in the way of beauty. He's seen the way that people are attracted to his brothers beauty, his mothers beauty, to beauty in general. It doesn't serve a purpose to him. He doesn't want people attracted to him. He wants people to fear him, it's why as far as vanity goes, he's changed his tame chestnut locks into a shocking platinum blonde, which he keeps spikes. He's found that people don't think he's as approachable with it, which he likes. They seem less apt to come up and ask him why he's sitting alone, why doesn't he come with them...

He dresses in all black to keep himself distanced, it's a very, very rare thing that he wears anything other, or from another color. Despite the fact that he can wear almost anything with his frame. Most people would think that he just seems dark and brooding, that it attracts people. The only thing good about that attraction is that they are the sort who are easily hurt. That – that suits him just fine.

Rodolphus continued to experiment in torture methods and by age 10 he began to keep his prey alive as he experimented with knives and fires trying to find the best way to extend the creatures whimpers and screams. Rodolphus felt no guilt or shame when discovered by his mother rather he focused on the warm blood of the family’s cat dripping from his fingertips. This isn't something that had been tamed the older he got...he simply got better at hiding it. People have told him this isn't a 'normal' urge, and he refuses to be caged by their small minded definition of normal.

Stubborn – Whenever he sets his mind on something, whatever it is, he will find a way to get it. Losing isn't something he can accept and he will not ever go without if he truly desires it. He's from a well to do family, in the best of society, he will use whatever tools are at his disposal to get what's wanted. Whether it's women, bodies, objects, people, anything. He cannot be stopped, and will go to absurd lengths to get what he wants. He doesn't care if he has to step on people to get to it either. He's dedicated to what he wants. Sometimes those wants will be beneficial to others, usually his brother, the only person who has yet to judge him. Depending on his mood, there are times whenever he will lend a helping hand to assist in others goals. Cunning

Quiet – The way he moves and carries himself, certainly. He's not one to attempt to draw attention to himself. He's more than happy to let others be the center of attention. He's just fine with letting his brother speak for him on most occasions, and would rather stare intently than have a real conversation. He thinks that he can find just as much information by what people don't say as what they do. There are very few people that he will hold a full conversation with, without holding back. The main person being his brother, Rabastan. Whereas Rabastan is charming and tends to draw people in, Rodolphus will do almost anything to keep people at arms length. He doesn't have the winning smile or the charming heat that sits just under his skin, he cannot tolerate people that have no use to him, he would rather sit and let people think whatever they wanted of him than speak to them. He simply doesn't care.

Reclusive – he likes his own company. If he's ever unaccounted for, one can assume he's back in his own room occupying himself in some way. He's got a number of hobbies to kill his free time, his mother had impressed upon him that idle hands were the devils playthings, though nobody in his family believes in the devil, or in organized religion. Mostly, she was just worried that if he was left alone...his urges would get out of control. While he personally sees nothing wrong with what he does, or what his mind urges him to do, placating himself with simple diversions have become habit to him. He cannot sit still.

Strong – mentally more than physically. Not that he's physically weak. He can hold his own. He's loyal to those who have proven themselves to him, ruthless in defending what is his, or perceived to be his. He has no lines, and no issues harming people. He's very talented with his wand, and considers it just an extension of his hand. Whereas some people might be clumsy with their spells, his are a point of pride. He considers each one to be a work of art, and has spent a considerable amount of time perfecting the ones that he knows, even the darker ones. There are no shortage of test subjects, after all.

Insane – The students that grew up with him in Slytherin, knew better than the leave their pets alone with him. Didn't leave their conquests to 'sleep it off' in their beds, and locked away things they didn't want to have broken. It was much easier than attempting to confront him. Much easier than having to deal with his temper, they knew not to press him. Rodolphus was not one to be tested, they had seen his 'artwork' enough times to know better. Something about his moral compass just seems to be broken. He doesn't know how to process his emotions properly, 'anger' 'frustration' 'bitterness' 'disappointment' he tends to get overwhelmed and has outbursts that cannot be stopped. He has the habit of picking a “pet” from another house who he can take his anger on. Whenever that doesn't work...he turns to people.

Artistic – Having spent a lot of time alone, he's learned a few things to pass the time. He's an accomplished piano player, and picked up the bagpipes over the course of a long summer. He likes to draw, but only works with choal and chalks. He likes the way that they stain his fingers. He's not half bad either. Even though not many people can stomach looking at his drawings for too long, they tend to be...graphic.
