physical description Firstly, Johannes doesn't look anything like a Rosenthal.  That isn't surprising once you've learned that he was adopted by his step-father, but he also doesn't look like the rest of the family, either. His medium-brown, wavy hair is the first telling sign. He also has a larger than average, endearing nose that tilts inwardly above his full lips.  His body is slightly thicker and shorter than the other men in his family, but all those working out quidditch hours certainly put his thick frame to good use, leaving him in top shape.  An all-around, innocent boy-next-door with a winning smile is generally how he is described and boy, is that right on the nose.  Maybe that tattoo of a cute cairn terrier dog on his left shoulder blade is an act of rebellion after all.  Then again, maybe not.

appearance His dress isn't anything to talk about, for the good or the bad. Since he's a bit in the limelight, Johannes buys clothing from higher-end, name brand stores but he usually sticks to the casual, I-don't-want-to-try-too-hard trend. Jackets with collars are his favorite go-to, usually hiding a basic cotton tee underneath that cost way more than it was actually worth. He likes his hat, and when he's miraculously not out on the pitch, Johannes has a series of baseball caps he rotates between.

Committed: His ability to remain on a professional quidditch team is due in part to his talent, and part to his commitment to whatever he undertakes. In a way, it's Johannes being in competition with himself, and you'll never give up if you have that consistent of a competitor, will you? His dedication can at times even be frustrating to him if he cannot accomplish what he has set out to do, or others, be it teammates or acquaintances, have a different mind frame.


Impatient: Granted, there are not a lot of what one would call "patient twenty-year-old boys" around. Patience is an acquired virtue, one Johannes doesn't bother with working toward.  Johannes is patient insomuch as training and working toward a goal is necessary, but his patience with rude people or those who perpetually gripe about everything is slim. He also hates those unnecessarily long, pesky lines (you've got yourself a line cutter here).


Quirky: You either like Johannes' sense of humor, or you don't.  There's simply no other way to cut it.  He likes to take the mickey out of other people and expects them to do the same to him.  That, in his opinion, is how you bond.  Smack talk?  Another form of bonding. When people take matters too seriously it ruffles his feathers a bit and occasionally puts them at odds with one another, although Johannes typically lets things go in the end.  He's a bit of a goofball whether he is working at the time or sitting about at home, and while that may hurt someone else's concentration, it's optimal working conditions for Johannes.   


Generous: For whatever reason, Johannes has a very generous personality engrained deeply within him.  It has nothing to do with his nurturing, as his family wasn't particularly generous nor were they particularly greedy.  To him, money and material possessions are a fluid entity meant to be constantly passed between persons.  Johannes' mother has found this to be such a problem that she eventually convinced him (or scolded, in other words) into getting someone else to manage the sudden influx of salary that he has been making. Though he isn't stupid and he wouldn't think of giving his money to people who want to use it for negative means, he is that "one person" who always winds up paying for the group meal at a restaurant because he never fails to offer.  Who wouldn't take up an offer like that?

Level-headed: Unless it's in relation to his little brother, who you can accurately place as the one exception to every single item on this list, then Johannes is quite the level-headed person.  His temper isn't quick, and he manages to keep his cool under intense pressure and scrutiny.  This does not imply that stress never gets to him, because it certainly does, but he uses that stress in ways that don't involve hitting someone (again, let's just leave Felix out of this). Johannes knows exactly how to keep his eye on the prize, and is good at motivating others with him.  This quality explains why Johannes was often the group leader in school - he certainly wasn't afraid to talk (maybe a little to much) and he easily took command. Being a team player is easy for him as long as everyone else likes his jokes (sigh).
