Simon Steinway is an extremely attractive man, let's be real here. He comes from a long line of attractive people and equally attractive parents. If he's being honest that's really all his family can produce. He's got one of those faces that can transform from pretty to rugged with just the barest amount of stubble- something that can usually be seen covering his jaw line due more to a honest overlooking of the act to go about ridding himself of it. His forehead slopes just enough to be prominent without jutting out disproportionately, flowing easily into his nose- which has been broken one too many times to have remained straight, bludgers have never been the kindest to bone and cartilage, and seeing that he's the type to take one to the face to ensure that the quaffle makes it through one of the three hoops at the end of the field he's had quite a few brushes with that. While not exactly straight though it's just as evenly propped above his somewhat too full lips- lips usually pulled into a grin to reveal the dimples that never quite left from his childhood. With high cheekbones and a square jawline he's just the right type of male to attract feminine attention- almond shaped eyes so lightly hued to better highlight the full, thick black lashes. If you asked any of his family they'd recall a boy with slightly snaggled teeth, an overbite that just seemed to push his words more forcefully from his lips- thankfully something his mother took him to have fixed before he entered school. He can now boastfully claim that he's got even- spell white teeth as well. He spends enough time working himself out, both for and outside of work that his muscles are thickly corded, highlighting his 6'1 frame and making him seem even larger than he actually is. With broad shoulders and thin hips he's been classed as having the perfect body. Something he works diligently to keep up with. His hands are large and calloused, both from Quidditch and his propensity for outside sports leaning towards extreme- rock climbing, bunjee-jumping, and the like.

++Exaggerated Sense Of One's Own Self-Importance++ 

Simon is very opinionated, very sure that he's the one in the right and has on occasion been called arrogant. It isn't that he really believes necessarily that he's always right, he isn't obstinate about it at least. Rather, he has a pretty set view of how things are and how things are made up to be and it takes a good deal of discussion to get him to see it from another perspective. He tends to think that his word carries a bit further than it does, though that could come of being the oldest of three siblings and being put in positions of power throughout his school days. Keeping a team of gryffindor athletes in check and commanding their best performance is enough to make one at times sound authoritarian or as if they couldn't possibly be wrong- its the kind of inflection one needs to use to ensure that he isn't questioned when it comes down to game time. He supposes what really makes people consider him so arrogant is the fact that he's aware of his strengths. He knows how good he is at his job, knows that he can outfly almost everyone in his professional league. Just as he knows that he's equally one of the most attractive in it as well. It's not really arrogant of him to acknowledge his strengths though is it? Not when he has so many weaknesses?  

++A propensity for being displeased with anything that is not perfect++ 

Weaknesses that he's very aware of. He knows that he's as far from perfect as he can possibly be. Although he tries his hardest to be. He's what some would coin a perfectionist. He was told of his shortcomings enough often enough growing up to want to fix them, to have this inescapable drive to fix them. In school, despite the fact that he didn't like doing the work, he worked hard to make sure that he made good grades, always kept them high enough- no matter how hard the subject was for him. He finds himself constantly questioning whether he's doing something right, whether or not he's messing it up. It's not a very noticeable habit, his mother told him often enough when he was younger that neediness was unattractive, rather its something that's very internalized for him. He has an intense need to be perfect. An intense need to do everything he can to be called such.  

++A Neurotic Need For Affection And Approval++ 

Simon needs to feel accepted- to the point of ailment. He doesn't do well with rejection or confrontation- he goes out of his way to make others happy, to make them like him. He takes affection in whatever form he can get it- be it physical, mental, or emotional. Not that he went and slept with a disproportionate number of women over his years, he had his share of action throughout school, but he wasn't very good with one night stands, always feeling as if it was the girl rejecting him in the end. He likes monogamy and relationships. Likes the way that they make him feel... wanted- even if he doesn't always understand why he would be. He enjoys team sports and social activity because they make him feel connected- fulfill his desire to please much more than solo activities do. He's not so far gone as to be typed as needy or clingy, again he internalizes the majority of these feelings fairly well. He likes pleasing other people, in every form. It's something that pushes him even further in his career, the ability to put a smile on his fan's faces.  

++Favorably disposed; not antagonistic++ 

He's generally very open, friendly - with a warm smile and quick acceptance of others, flaws and all. He likes people- as a whole, likes being around them and likes making new friends. He's not judgmental of very many outside of himself- willing to take them as they are, even if he does have a propensity for pranking and teasing- it really is all in good nature fun. Even when he's employing sarcasm- which is fairly often- he doesn't mean it to be ugly, more often than not he turns it into a joke.

Okay. Anyone who knew him throughout his school days and the start of his career on the Falcons would find it hard pressed to believe that. At least anyone who didn't keep in contact with him after he disappeared from the world of professional quidditch following his girlfriend's death. After his self imposed year of isolation his smile came less readily, his jokes far less boisterous than they had been in the beginning. He still retains most of the same fundamental character makeup... just shadowed.
