Married since they were teenagers, their many children are the product of an arranged marriage that just happened to work out well. Marya was sold to Dimka's family at a young age. Her parents hadn't understood why she was so strange. She didn't understand why she was so different at the age of ten to all of her friends or her sisters, she didn't know why strange things tended to happen around her but they did. Dimka was supportive of her strange ways and they were contacted by a wizarding school when Marya turned eleven. Fascinated and a little jealous, Dimka's made his family send her to that schooling and supported all of her lessons. She married him when she was only fifteen years old. It was his belief that he could get her to teach him the ways of magic and that he would also be able to do the same spells as she was. However that was not the case. Dimka became very jealous of her and shortly after her graduation, took her wand and snapped it in half. He had thought that since he couldn't be magical, then nobody in their family would be. She was supposed to be in the home and bear him many sons. She did, but the first few of their children couldn't make it through the long winters and Dimka wasn't a very good provider. He was a cruel man with an even darker heart. Whenever she had their first living child, Yevgeny was watched from infancy to see if he was going to have the same powers as his mother. Fortunately for him, he did not appear to have any. Father groomed son from a very young age to follow into his footsteps, wanting for his son to provide for the family so that Dimka could retire and stay at home. However, the work that he did was not of the reputable sort. A way of life that he would impress onto all of his children whether they liked it or not.
