Important History?: The Griesser family aren't any special people. They're your normal, middle-class wizarding family whose descendants can almost literally be traced from all over Europe. Erich's father, Hendrik, was born to a Swedish/German family in the early 60's. He met his wife Deirdre, of semi-wealthy roots, in the early eighties. Having the type of relationship found in most muggle movies, the couple ran off to get married when Deirdre's father forbid the two to see one another due to their difference in social rank.
The two got married in Portugal and then proceeded to make permanent settlement in Austria. During the course of the trip, Deirdre became pregnant with who was to be the couple's only child. Nine months later and only after being in Austria for approximately a month, Erich Johannes Griesser was born.
Erich lived the normal childhood that any only child might. His parents doted upon him so often, whether they had the money or not, that its a surprise that Erich remains the calm, unaffected and unsnobbish person that he is today. When he turned 12, he received the letter of acceptance from Hogwarts Galaxia and much to his mother's dismay, went off and began his first year at the wizarding school.
Perhaps it was the semi-drastic change that completely changed Erich's personality. He has always been a quiet and very studious boy but as the years progressed at Galaxia and the constant annoyances with the school and its students increased, Erich gained a few new traits that he might not have if he had been shipped off to the exclusive wizard boarding school in Italy. He found himself slowly becoming an outcast from the normal expectations of the Galaxia students. He had occasionally made effort to befriend others which did not usually turn out in his favor, something that has provided to his lack of interest in interacting with any of his fellow peers. Finding himself to be an outcase, Erich took up sketching and writing, typical for most teenage recluses.
Since graduating, Erich has become a full-time writer for the Daily Timestopper which he sees as a perfect outlet for his constant annoyance with everything. He remains opinionated and moody as he was back in school.
